A Fond Farewell

If you can read this, due to issues with page display using Internet Explorer (Talk about IRONY), I will not be posting here for a while. I still can't see the content with IE, so I'll be posting in the future at my Blogspot blog
1月12日

I'm apparently having problems with the site!

If you are reading this, likely, you have Firefox or another Mozilla Browser! It seems IE hates me! I am also running my blog content on Blogspot at http://theamazongshrinkingman.blogspot.com . Some of my readers have emailed me to let me know about the problem and when I booted up IE to check it (I use Firefox, myself!), sure enough, links and friends display but the content is blank!

If you are able to read this with Internet Explorer as your browser, please comment in to let me know! Either that or email me at gunsel2001(at)yahoo(dot)com. I'd appreciate it! That way I'll know if MSN has fixed the problem or not!

Two Things:

I picked up this Meme from Christa over at Awful Souls,
Participate if you want, it see,s to be a wonderful tool for self assessment!

  1. 2 things you want to do:
Ride 200 mile one day event
    Compete in additional road races
    2. 2 things you should've done but keep postponing:
I'm a great procrastinator, I should have done a lot of things I put off! :p

    3. 2 things you did, but shouldn't have:
    Started smoking many years ago

Allowing myself to gain as much weight as I did :p

    4. 2 things that you must do:
    Eat and Sleep.

    5. 2 things you do every day:
    Train and Study

    6. 2 things someone else would want you to do:
    Finish my degree
Achieve my goals and be happy with my life
    7. 2 things that you would never do:
    Steal or kill.

Answer them for yourself and pass it on!

Been playing with GIMP and having a ball!

This is off my usual topics of Bicycling and Nutrition/weight loss, but I had to put up a lighten up post! I've been playing with Animorphic imagery. Here are some of the results!

A Bit of Cheesie Claymation animation

I couldn't resist this little homage to the early claymations. I did have some fun putting it together.

Free Excel Spreadsheet program for your use!

I've set up a training tool for you to use.It is HERE at savefile for the 2007 version, and HERE for this years. What it is is a Mileage and Average Speed Diary. All you have to do is enter the appropriate numbers in the appropriate cells and there ya go!

The Format is Excel, as a template file. I have several sample mileages and times in it so you can see what it does. Clear those miles out of the cells. It's set up for 2006. I'll be bringing out the 2007 file in January. There is no spyware or virus' in it, but feel free to scan the file for your own security. There aren't any little Easter Eggs in it either, it's just a simple, clean and easy to use program template. It'll open with MS Excel or Open Office, either one and also under Neooffice/J 1.2.2 with OS-X. It will shortly be tested on Oo2.X under KANOTIX 64 w/a 2.6.13 kernel.

The templates are copyrighted under creative commons by me and I hereby authorize license for free to any user. The program can be modified to your taste and is based on Open Source Code. The only stipulation I have is that the program cannot be sold. You can give away as many copies as you want though! Use it in good health and enjoy!

Blog in Space, Redux!

Just got this today! I have been rebroadcast to the universe at large, so ET, if you comment on my space here, let me have a link to your complete internet address, including the Stellar System you are commenting from. I do have to bar people commenting through Uranus, though due to this being a family friendly site!

Watch out for these email addresses

I guess I am starting to have enough internet presence that hackers are starting to notice me. mhsboxoffice@aol.com, 3dboss@compasswa.com, just to let you know, I'm not stupid enough to open an attachment from somebody I've never heard of! Marie, aka 3dboss, your IP is 70.20.145.158 and you tried to send me W32Beagle@mm.zip. mhsboxoffice, your IP is 67.91.64.147, and you tried to send me W32Mydoom.L@mm in a readme.zip file.  I have excellent internet security, and I don't POP3 my public email address, so you can't exploit that weakness. Welcome to the spotlight.

Interesting Stastics

My Blog Demographics

I am going to show my geeky side here, I am sure! I was looking through my back links on Technorati and noted some interesting trends.

It seems my average reader is a cycling woman! Interesting and kind of cool!

My Blog has Korean Readers Apparently!

Check outy the Screenshot! I have been translated into Korean! Kinda cool, isn't it? I don't know if it is a standard service or demand driven one, but someone over there searched out my blog specifically, and it was mirrored in Korean!

By the way, I hate to sound like a schill here, but feel free to visit my sponsored links, this is one of the way's I am trying to pay for my trip to the Lotoja, as well as buy a suitable lightweight roadbike for the race! Either this, or this! I'm actually leaning now toward the Allez, I'm a big horse of a feller, and an all carbon frame could definately be a crash disaster!

Best of Blogs Award and the first of my Banjo Brothers Bags Arrived!

Best of Blogs Award

It seems I am in the voting for the Best of Blogs Award! I'm in the Health and Fitness Category. The award is given based on votes, and I wouldn't mind snagging this! Wish me luck ane here is the link to go and vote!

The Flu!

Looks like I am on the mend! Temp broke last night and I feel SO MUCH better! I got out and did a little ride today! 7.2 miles is all. I could sure tell I'd been off the bike for the better part of a week! Probably still have some stamina problems associated with my bout of the flu, so it slowed me down a bit. I forgot just how bad the flu can make you feel! I'm glad I was able to get a little riding in today, because tomorrow through at least Thursday, we're supposed to get rain/snow/rain/snow mix. It actually hit 50 degreesF today! Bizzarre weather for January, but I'm not gonna complain

Banjo Brothers Bags, Initial Impression

In the next few days, I'll be posting a series of product review and assessments of the following
Rack Trunk
Handlebar Bag
Seat Bag(small)

These just arrived for review. As I got a look at them, I was impressed, by the way, with the construction. The stitching is solid, and the quality and appearance of the bags is real nice. Mounting system is very user friendly as well, and they seem to be pretty universal in their mounting system.....no special rack for these bags! The Rack Trunk Bag drops onto my existing rack quite nicely and is just the right size for my needs! I'm waiting on the pannier set, and am looking forward to showing them off at my LBS to get them interested in carrying these quality bags! Thanks Banjo Brothers, I can't wait to get these on my bike and try them out! Pictures soon!
