Midterms!

I'm getting a bit strung out in classes right now! Ah well, just under a week to go and the pressure will be off for a while again! This week, I've had three Psych experiments running, a major paper due, prepping for Math Midterms. I've also had organization of my observation Journal for a naturalistic observation set of sessions in a Remedial Math to observe the classroom dynamic. This middle aged student is getting a bit tired!

Now, to add to all this, my abnormal psych prof. asked me to have a power point and 10-20 minute lecture ready to present the preliminary results in one of my experiments for Monday. This was a self selecting random sample population survey on types and distribution curve of phobias in a group. I have to admit, though, while I was busy as a one armed paper hanger in a tornado.....I've had a blast! Soon as things slow down a bit, I'll be posting a bit more regularily again, with some actual articles and content!

Here are some of the upcoming topics, as soon as I have time to finish them:
Recumbent trikes
Post Bariatric Nutrition
Winter training
Cold Weather Riding in the Midwest

Have to go now, I have a midterm in the morning, Educational Psychology! I hear a textbook calling my name! Til the weekend then for Spinner Saturday! Keep riding!

I have my semester grades

Anatomy and Physiology 102: B
Microbiology: A
Math: B
Psych 201, Developmental: A
Cumulative GPA: 3.87

I lost my 4.0 from last semester, but given the fact I missed so much of this semester due to the Hernia blowing out, I'll take it! It's still in the honors category. I know one thing, A&P 102 is a hell of a lot harder than 101! Rather than rote learning, there was a lot af analysis and labwork. It was truly challenging and a lot of fun!

I have been considering a change in course, by the way. Rather than RN, I've been thinking about going into Psychology. I am still planning to get the RN License, but am planning on transferring to a 4 year program after my Associates degree to prep for PhD or PsyD Psychology. I honestly think I can do more in the field of working with eating disorders as a PhD or PsyD Psychologist. I honestly wouldn't mind a little input here, by the way!

Riding my new bike this afternoon may be problematic! We have a blocked low pressure area stuck over us! It's been raining and storming for the last two days and no end in sight! Heck, this mornig, I saw a bearded old man gathering animals two by two!

I HATE FINALS!

Yes, here it is, finals week! Looking good over all, but I still hate finals. I think I'm allergic to math, by the way! Every time I take a math test or quiz, I start with a runny nose and sneezing by question 10! Botched, is there anything to this little postulate? Possibly a new allergy to add to the DSM?

I can see it now:
Mast cell and basophil activation by immunoglobulin triggered by exposure to an environment containing such allergens as equations and theorems. How about Pythagorosal Sensitivity Histamine Reaction Syndrome? (If my Math Prof sees this, she'll roll out of her chair laughing!)  Ironically, it's only math tests that do this to me. I've tried sitting near other people instead of the person I usually sit near, so it's not her perfume! I believe that can be eliminated. All I can say is that I guess I really am allergic to mathmatics! It might make for an interesting federally funded study, eh? I've seen far more frivolous studies!

I'm a Guest Lecturer Today!

I get to lecture on bacterial Natural Gas generation. It's actually a pretty interesting subject. It involves a totally renewable resource that has the additional benefit of cleaning up both Human and Livestock organic waste! Wish me well on my lecture!

National Deans List - Spinner, PHAT-K Update

I recieved mail yesterday from the National Deans List. It seems that not only am I on the Deans List at school, they submitted me and I was accepted by the National Deans List for listing in the 2006 publication this spring. This was a serious surprise!

Spinner Saturday

Well, my miles are a little low this week. Between rain, school, and currently having the flu, I didn't get much ride time this week. PHAT-K Sprint time will be run at least for me, next week as I currently have a 101 temp and can't get more than 30 ft from the bathroom. I feel like the wreck of the Hespera!

Miles for week: 19.2
Month: 54.2
PHAT-K Time: Called for the week-sick

Tayfur, still run your sprint time and anyone else who wants to participate in the PHAT-K, the rules are simple, it's a short course 1000 meter sprint on bicycle. Criterion course(Short loop) is preferable, and it's a rolling start.Post it into my comments and if you aren't in the database, I'll add you. I can also send you the data sheets in .pdf if you want, just email me at the above address.

I PASSED MY A&P FINAL EXAM!

I am happy to say, I passed my anatomy and Physiology final! 88%!
Class grades I have thus far
CIS 101: 92% Computers
Com101:102% Communications
Psych 101: 96%
A&P 101: 90% +, 75 on the final would have put me at 90.2%, I got 88% on the final!
Still have English 111 and won't know til Friday, but as of last GPA check, I'm getting an A there as well!

Thus far, 95% average on the 4 classes I have final grades on or close estimates on finnal, so this might adjust up or down a little, but not much! On the 4 point system, it's 3.8! Not bad for someone who hasn't been to school for 27 years!
